You can use this page to manage new product development (NPD) as part of product lifecycle management (PLM).

View data or enter updates in the Product Level Source Dates and Effective Dates and Customer Level Status cards. When you have entered all the updates you want to make, commit the updates.

You can set the context for the data that displays using the All Products and All Customers selectors. Either select options from the dropdowns or enter a search term in the search field to find an option.

You can use the Product Level Source Dates and Effective Dates card to review new product introduction (NPI) and end of life (EOL) status for products.

To make changes to a product or update its status:

  1. Select Override NPI/EOL status for the product.
  2. Select either NPI or EOL in the NPI/EOL Override column.

Changes are only applied if you commit the updates.

You can use the Customer Level Status card to view and edit NPI and EOL status at the customer level. You also have the option to enter dates for a new status to begin when you enter it.

To enter a change to NPI or EOL status at the customer level:

  1. Select Override NPI/EOL status for the customer level.
  2. Select either NPI or EOL in the NPI/EOL Override column.
  3. Optionally, select the date picker in the NPI Date or EOL Date column and choose a date to begin the new status.

Changes are only applied if you commit the updates.

When you've prepared the changes you want, you can commit the updates to apply them.

To commit updates:

  1. Refresh the dashboard.
  2. Review your changes.
    If your updates:
    • Add or remove NPI status to or from a product, the product displays as a row in the Updates to Commit (Refresh) grid.
    • Add NPI status, there's a checkmark in the ISNPI column for that product, and the cell is green.
    • Remove NPI status, the cell is red and there's no checkmark.
  3. Select Commit Updates to make the changes live.

If you remove NPI status from a product, this permanently deletes the NPI plan.

If you add a product to ISNPI, this enables NPI functionality for that product.
