Configure to Order (CTO) items often involve configuration of bundles or BOMs (Bill of Materials) at the product level. To plan these items, it's important to understand the dependent / independent demand and other factors like attachment rates. The CTO dashboard allows you to plan items both as parents (with BOMs) and individual items in a more detailed manner.

You can specify a product in the top-right of the page, or manually enter the required value using the search function.

All bundles created from the Planning BOMs source module display. For example, items grouped together and sold as a bundle. Attachment rates highlight the percentage of sales a secondary product has gained when attached to a primary item. For example, phones with a headset, or cameras with film.

ParameterValue
ItemDisplays the bundled product.
Attached Rate %Displays the percentage of sales gain of a secondary product attached to a primary item. For example, phones with a headset, or cameras with a film.
ISFixedBOMIf selected, the attached rate percentage automatically populates. If unselected, you can override the attached rate percentage.

To add an item from a BOM:

  1. Select Add New Item to BOM.
  2. Complete the dialog and select Submit.

Note: If selected, the Perpetuate Attach Rates option perpetuates the attached rate percentage on all products.

To delete items from BOM:

  1. Select Delete ? against the items to delete.
  2. Select Delete Items from BOM. A progress dialog displays until the deletion completes.

When planning for BOMs and bundles, it's vital to associate dependent and independent demands of parents and items. The Dependent Demand table and Demand Item Constitution graph highlight top level, item-dependent, and total demand (at item level) on a week-by-week basis. This only displays where a new item has been added to a BOM as part of a bundle above.
