This page displays forecasts derived from the Consensus Plan, together with open and overdue customer demand. You can then adjust the Consensus Plan using one of several consumption methods available.

You can specify a product using the context selectors at the top-right of the page.

An admin can manage these parameters, at a global level, in D1000 - Global Demand Parameters.

Effective Parameters are values that are currently set. Edit Parameters allows you to enter new values for the same parameters. When you enter a value, it becomes an effective parameter.

Consumption Methods
  • Off: This method keeps the Open Customer Demand (U) in the current month and does not change any previous or future periods. The Unconsumed Forecast(U) will equal Consensus Plan (U).
  • Same Period Only: This method subtracts the Open Customer Demand (U) within the current period from the Consensus Plan (U) within the current period but if the Consensus Plan (U) is exceeded then the values in other periods will not be affected.
  • Forward: This method subtracts the Open Customer Demand (U) from the future periods of the Consensus Plan (U) if Open Customer Demand (U) exceeds Consensus Plan (U).
  • Backward: This method subtracts the Open Customer Demand (U) from the Consensus Plan (U) periods that precede the periods in which Open Customer Demand (U) exceeds Consensus Plan (U).
  • Forward then Backward: This method subtracts the Open Customer Demand (U) from Consensus Plan (U) where Consensus Plan (U) is exceeded. Subtraction is first managed on forward periods, and then on backwards periods.
  • Backward then forward: This method subtracts the ‘Open Customer Demand (U)’ from ‘Consensus Plan (U)’ where ‘Consensus Plan (U)’ is exceeded. Subtraction is first managed on backward periods, and then on forward periods.
Overdue Included in Forecast
  • Yes: This selection will make sure Overdue Customer Demand (U) is considered within the forecast.
  • No: This selection will make sure Overdue Customer Demand (U) is not considered within the forecast.

This chart provides you with an idea of the forecast consumption, in line with open demand and the consensus plan for the product-customer selected combination.

The chart displays data for:

  • Consensus Plan (U): The total demand in units per period for the customer-product combination selected. This value is derived from the Final Consensus Plan (U) in the Consensus Planning module.
  • Open Customer Demand (U): The unfulfilled/open customer orders in units per period for the customer-product combination selected.
  • Unconsumed Forecast (U): The net number of units being Consensus Plan (U) less Open Customer Demand (U).

The forecast consumption table displays the consumption chart from a numerical perspective. This allows you to dive deeper into the data. The data is driven by the parameters selected for consumption method, which affect the overall unconsumed forecast across the future weeks.

  • Consensus Plan (U): This data series displays the total demand in units, per period, for your selected customer-product combination. This value is derived from the Final Consensus Plan (U) in the Consensus Planning module.
  • Overdue Customer Demand (U): This data series displays overdue demand where Open Customer Demand values are present for past periods.
  • Open Customer Demand (U): This value displays the unfulfilled or open customer orders in units per period for your selected customer-product combination .
  • Unconsumed Forecast (U): This data series displays the net number of units being Consensus Plan (U) less Open Customer Demand (U).

You can adjust the open customer demand if required. Edit the Open Customer Demand (U) by double-clicking the cells on the grid to enter new values. These then flow back to the Forecast Consumption chart.
