This page defines the inventory age categories for the inventory reporting across your inventory planning dashboards.

You assign inventory age categories to product-location combinations to provide visual guidance in your inventory planning activities.

To create a new inventory age category:

  1. Select the Add Inventory Age Category action button.
  2. In the dialog, enter a display name for the category and select Submit. This adds an entry to the Inventory Age Categories grid.
  3. For each category you create, enter values for From Days (>=) and To Days (<=) so these are sequential and do not contain gaps. Consider the following:
    • The first days supply category should have From Days (>=) set to one.
    • Subsequent categories should always start a day after the previous one ends.
    • The last category should have To Days (<=) value set to zero.
  4. For each category set an Age Color Coding (-10 to +10) value. Consider the following:
    • The value of 10 sets the cell color to green.
    • The value of -10 sets the cell color to red.
    • Values between 10 and -10 display in intermediate shades between green and red, depending on the number of categories that exist.

Once you have created your categories, sort them to maintain an ordered sequence. To do this, select the Sort Inventory Age Categories action button. It is essential to sort after any additions or edits. This requires Workspace Administrator permission in the model.

To delete an existing inventory age category:

  1. Select the checkbox in the Delete? column, next to the Inventory Age Category item that you want to delete.
  2. Select the Delete Inventory Age Category action to delete the category.
