This page enables you to review where a plant's capacity requirements exceed the available capacity, and set events to increase production to solve the constraint.

Use the right-hand context selector dropdown to select a location.

The two tables at the top of the page provide a summary of the selected plant's over capacity, capacity events, and a weekly utilization percentage.

ParametersValues
Number of Over Capacity Periods Over Time HorizonDisplays the total number of processes with over capacity over time.
Number of EventsInput the number to adjust the number of events.
ParametersValues
Unconstrained Capacity Utilization (%)The usage capacity is calculated as (Demand − Production Load) / ((Hours Available − Factory Calendar) ∗ (Run Rate − Run Rate per Product)).
Event NameThe name of the exception.
ParametersValues
Max Pull Forward PeriodsThe maximum number of periods for which ‌excess demand can be pulled forward.
YellowThe percentage of usage over which the value is highlighted in yellow.
RedThe percentage of usage over which the value is highlighted in red.

The Effective Parameter panel shows the current effective plant constraint review parameters.

Constraint events enable you to pull forward demand to ensure usage is within the production constraint limits.

To create a constraint event:

  1. Select Show Next Available Constraint to create a spare constraint event.
  2. Complete the Constraint Events table:
ParametersValues
Event NameSpecify an event name.
PlantDisplays the name of the selected location.
ProcessSelect a production process from the dropdown.
Start PeriodSpecify when the event starts.
Ending PeriodSpecify when the event ends.
Max Pull Forward PeriodsSpecify the number of periods where demand can be pulled forward.
Effective?Select to make the event effective.
Delete? If selected, the event is deleted in the next system refresh.
  1. Select Update Constraint Event Info.

The top table shows information across the pull forward and capacity shortfall periods.

Select the Hide Pull Forward or Hide Capacity Shortfall option to filter the table's data.

ParametersValues
Hours NeededThe hours needed to satisfy the demand. The value is the Demand Production Load value divided by the Run Rate value, minus the Run Rate per Product value.
Hours AvailableThe total number of hours available at the factory for producing the product based on the factory calendar.
Capacity ShortfallThe total capacity shortfall. This is the Hours Needed value minus the Hours Available value.
EF Hours ReducedThe hours reduced by pulling forward the demand. Ideally, the capacity shortfall should be equal to the hours reduced.
Remaining Capacity ShortfallThe Capacity Shortfall value minus the Effective Hours Reduced value. If the value is zero, all ‌demand is met by pulling forward the forecast.
Target Usage Pull forwardDisplays the target usage pull forward value, based on ‌‌simulated pull forward usage calculations.
EF Hours Pull ForwardDisplays the approved pulled forward hours.
Remaining Target Usage to Pull ForwardThe plant's available capacity, calculated as the Target Usage Pull Forward value minus the EF Hours Pull Forward value.
Pulled Forward Capacity UsageDisplays the sum of the Hours Needed and EF Hours Pull Forward values.
Pulled Forward Capacity Utilization (%)The usage calculated based on the pull forward demand.

If the user chooses a constraint event in the event table, they can manually resolve it by editing the bottom table.
