This page shows a summary of inventory planning alerts based on how well different key performance indicators (KPIs) perform.
Before you start
Use the context selectors at the top-right to select a scenario, location, and product combination. Additionally, you can manually enter the required values using the search function.
Prioritization Summary
This section helps you identify critical issues and address them quickly. Prioritization ensures that critical issues are addressed, resources are allocated efficiently, and supply chain disruptions are minimized.
The Inventory Quantity by Prioritization graph displays the inventory of each low, medium, high, and very high priority. Hover over each priority to display the priority count.
The Count of Products x Locations by Prioritization graph shows how many products are in each location based on its priority. It shows the number of products in each location for each low, medium, high, and very high priority. Hover over each priority to display the priority count.
The Products and Locations Classified as Very High Priority table lists the baseline, final, and previous demand counts for each product and location combination.
Parameter | Value |
On Hand Inventory | Count of inventory that is available at the location. |
Periods Until Stockout | Number of time periods until stockout at the location for the selected product. |
Shortfall in Next X-Periods % Total Demand | Potential stockouts and the adequacy of current inventory levels to meet future demand. |
Current Inventory vs Target (%) | A percentage comparison indicating whether current inventory is above, below, or at the desired target level. |
Aged Inventory (%) | Percentage of inventory that's been in stock for a specific period. |
Alerts Count
This section displays a count of the product and location combinations where the KPI value is in the low range. The KPIs used are:
Parameter | Value |
Periods until stockout | Count of alerts triggered when Periods Until Stockout is less than 30 periods. |
Shortfall in Next X-Periods | Count of alerts triggered when Shortfall in Next X-Periods % Total Demand is less than 105 periods. |
Current Excess/Shortfall vs Target | Count of alerts triggered when Current Inventory vs Target % is greater than 0%. |
Aged Inventory % | Count of alerts triggered when Aged Inventory % is greater than 1019.9999999999999 %. |

Additional information
Each KPI threshold is set to value the performance of the KPI as low, medium, or high, or very high.
Each KPI is allocated points to provide a weighting against the other KPIs. The total of all KPI points is 100.
The points for all KPIs are summed to provide a total prioritization score for the given product and customer combination. A product and customer score can be between 0-100, with a higher number indicating a higher prioritization for review.
The 0-100 range is categorized into low, medium, high, and very high priority for reporting and review purposes.
