Review and adjust demand for a selected product and customer combination.

The page provides two context selectors at the top right, which enable you to specify the context of the customer and product data combination that displays. Both context selectors only give options for both hierarchies at all levels.

To change the data that displays on the page, select an option from the context selectors.

To search for an option, enter a numeric reference ID, alphabetic name, or a partial name in the Find... field.

Parameters are typically set by a system administrator at the global level in D1000 Global Demand Parameters page and apply to all product-customer combinations. These parameters are shown in the Effective Parameters card. You can adjust these parameters with the fields shown in the Edit Parameters card.

This table describes the parameters you can edit for the demand plan.

ParametersValues
Default Demand Plan

Select the basis for the demand plan from the menu:

  • Zero (0): Use this selection to set the default demand plan as zero for the specific product-customer combination. This allows the demand plan to be built without pre-populated values.
  • Stat Forecast: Use this selection to set the default demand plan as the statistical forecast for the specific product-customer combination. This allows the demand plan to be built with the statistical forecast values. This is typically the default if you built this in prior modules.
  • Final Commercial Plan: Use this selection to set the default demand plan as the final commercial plan for the specific product-customer combination. (Derived from the line-item Final Commercial Plan (U) in D1200 - Commercial planning - Units).
  • Prior Demand Plan: Use this selection to set the default demand plan as the demand plan for the prior planning period for the specific product-customer combination.
Periods History for ASPEnter a value in the cell for the number of periods required to calculate an average selling price.
Default DP Forecast Price

Select a value:

  • System Price: Select this value to use the default from customer-product price held in the Data Hub, converted to the base price with the currency exchange values held in the Data Hub.
  • Calculated ASP: Select this value to calculate the average sell price of the item with the number of periods entered in Periods History for ASP.
Perpetuate Unit overridesSelect this Boolean to control if the overrides that you entered are perpetuated over the entire horizon.

Use the indicator to view the plan lock status.

If the plan is unlocked for edits, the indicator displays in green and you can edit the plan. If the plan is locked for edits, the indicator displays Locked and you are unable to edit the plan.

Use the View Settings card to enable the specification of the settings for data visibility in the application’s charts and tables.

ParametersValues
View Years HistoryEnter the number of years history to view. If you enter more than the maximum history available, the maximum available is shown.
View Years FutureEnter the number of future years to view. If you enter more than the maximum history available, the maximum available is shown.
View Period TypeSelect from the dropdown to view the plan periods as either Fiscal Year or Rolling Year. The Fiscal Year option will always show the current fiscal year as a minimum. The Rolling Year option always shows the current period as a minimum. Select additional years to extend the view range from this minimum position.
Future OnlySelect this checkbox to view future periods only.
Table: Totals OnlyThis option allows the values in the table to be displayed as monthly or annual periods. Select this checkbox to display annual period value totals only.

Use this graph to view the demand history and forward-looking forecast across several key metrics.

The graph features corrected history, prior demand forecast period, rounded stat forecast (which the stat engine has performed), final demand forecast (the one we can affect as part of the planning process) and prior year as baseline forecast. You can analyze each metric individually by hovering over the name or line on the graph.

The table at the bottom of the page displays the demand plan, featuring base units, base revenue plan, product lifecycle impacts, opportunity uplifts, final forecasts, financials, and bundle adjustments. You can view how the demand forecast is built.

The table also highlights any cascaded planning impacts from Level 1 planning and any top-down overrides performed.

At the bottom of the table, any changes due to prior modules are highlighted in the cells, such as NPI, EOL, Cannibalization, Opportunities. These will all be carried through to the final demand plan at the bottom of the table.

To adjust at the product-customer level selected, you can override the demand forecast in terms of both units and % in the table on the row Demand Forecast Override (U) and Demand Forecast Override (%). This overrise is only available at the lowest product level, not at the top level of the product families.

Overrides always take precedence for the final baseline plan, over anything else.

Use the pricing in the table to financialize the demand plan, which can be changed in the parameters as explained above.
