Base Plan Inputs
Before you start
The page provides context selectors that enable you to specify a product, customer, and year. Select the required options from the list at the top right of the page, or manually enter the required value using the search function.
The Base Plan Inputs card allows you to add attributes and additional information against the base plan, for a product/customer/period. It uses these to build toward a final collaboration plan and allows:
- Teams to collaborate on items to enhance the accuracy of the forecast for the base collaborative plan.
- Add start dates and seasonal profiles to the baseline plan to make it more sophisticated.
- Bring in customer information via 2nd Tier, which enable greater collaboration on items with the customers forecast and information.
Steps
To add an item:
- Select Add Item and complete the dialog as follows:
Field | Description |
Parent | Select a product from the dropdown. If required, you can change the customer using the context selector in the top right corner. |
Start Date | Select a start date for the base plan. |
Item | Select what you are adding to the base plan. For example, units or financials. |
- Select Submit.
- Select Group on Item (Refresh) to group items on the next refresh.
To delete an item:
- Select the Delete checkbox against the item to delete.
- Select Delete Item. A progress dialog displays until the deletion is complete.
Additional information
If multiple overrides occur in the same period, the average value is used, except Base Price Uplift (%) which displays the sum value.
If multiple seasonal curves are added in the same period, the last one in the list order for Seasonal Curves is used.
The Base Plan Composition - Units and Base Plan - Revenue charts show the expected visual units and revenue. The values are based on the parameters used and any items added to the base plan. The charts show:
- The layering of new items on top of the forecast.
- Stat forecast, foundation, growth, seasonality, and base plan information over a weekly basis.
The Base Plan - Units and Base Plan - Revenue tables display the data used in the charts. The data is driven by pricing in the parameter settings, and includes financial items added to the base plan.
Promotions - Revenue & Contribution
Promotions must be considered as part of the collaborative plan as they can have a significant impact, especially when collaborating and planning for customers. The data is driven by the Daily Promotions Header source module, but you can update the plan.
