This page allows you to forecast the sell-through that translates into a sell-in through simple inventory assumptions.

You can specify the context of the 2nd tier customer and product data to display using the two context selectors at the top right of the page.

The process check is a warning to ensure planning and dashboards are related. Use the process check to warn others if the commercial basis isn't the same as the current page.

This section indicates if the Commercial Plan is open or closed.

You can set the display parameters in the View Settings card.

You can edit between closing inventory rounding and recommended sell-in. Closing inventory rounding determines how the target closing inventory should be rounded; Up, Down, Nearest, or Off. Recommended sell-in determines whether the recommended sell-in (calculated as the amount  you need to maintain the target inventory) is automatically used as the sell-in forecast.  If not, then you will have to enter the sell-in value.

2nd Tier ParametersValues
Closing Inventory RoundingDetermines how the target closing inventory should be rounded. The choices are Up, Down, Nearest, and Off.
Auto Accept Recommended Sell-inDetermines whether the recommended sell-in (the amount needed to maintain the target inventory) applies automatically as the sell-in forecast.  If you don't select it, you must enter the sell-in.

The 2nd Tier Planning table highlights all the key 2nd tier planning metrics that you can confirm, including opening inventory, sell-thru, sell-in and financials.

  • A parameter controls whether the recommended sell-in should be used as the bases of the forecast sell-in, which can be overridden.  The overrides perpetuate, you enter a value.
  • If the sell-in isn’t sufficient to keep up with the sell-thru, then eventually there is a stock out.
ParametersValues
Sell-thru inputThis value always perpetuates. You can stop the perpetuation when you enter a-ve number.
Target InventoryCalculated from periods supply (example: how many future periods of Sell-Thru does the inventory need to cover).
Recommended SellCalculated as the amount you need to achieve the target inventory.

The 2nd Tier Planning graph highlights three key metrics for the product-customer combination you selected: Closing Inventory, Sell-in Forecast, and Sell-thru Forecast. If you change any overrides in this table, those changes display in highlights in the latest graph.

The page provides several charts, the first of which is Commercial Planning Revenue. This chart displays a graphical view of several inputs to the commercial plan. The inputs include Selected History (R), Final Stat Forecast (R), Final Commercial Plan (R) and Prior Consensus Plan (R).

The summary table provides a summary at customer level, of the relevant commercial planning financial metrics – on a basis which is consistent with units and Rate of Sale planning. The summary includes the base commercial plan, final commercial plan and any contributions. It is worth noting that no functionality in this table is editable.

Parameters are set by a System Administrator at the global level and apply to all product-customer combinations (see D2000 Stat Parameters page). The parameters are shown in the left-hand panel as Effective Parameters.

  • You can adjust the parameters for the specified product-customer combination in the Edit Parameters pane.
  • When you adjust parameters for a specified combination, the adjusted settings display in the Effective Parameters panel. Such parameter changes aren't applied globally.
