You can use the Promo Curves and Daily Splits page to create promotion plans at customer and customer region levels. You can change the unit volumes and revenues in the demand, commercial, and consensus plans. You can add these as firm additions, or to support scenario panning through use of the effective status control to display "what-if" impacts.

The page provides context selectors that enables you to select a promotional curve. Select the required option from the list at the top right of the page, or manually enter the required value using the search function.

To create a promotion plan, you must complete the stages below:

  1. Create promotion curves to anticipate promotion uplift by day, according to defined fixed quantity of percentage values. Promotion curves are created and stored in the curve library, and applied to multiple promotion plans.
  2. Create promotions at the customer and customer region levels. Promotions must include multiple products with the ability to vary the promotion curve and uplift values at product level.
  3. Estimate the promotion costs to provide ROI at the customer-product and summary levels.
  4. Include the promotion plans in demand, commercial, and consensus planning.
  5. Impact analysis of promotion plan inputs against the base commercial plan, in terms of unit volumes and revenues.

The Manage Week to Days Split table allows you to specify each promotional curve's daily allocation. This table is useful where promotional products are setup to experience higher demand on particular days (for example, weekends) as it gives you full control of the Monday to Sunday planning.

To change a split value, enter a percentage value in the appropriate cell. The Total of Daily Splits column should be a value of 100% and highlighted green. If the value is less or more than 100%, the cell has a red highlight.

Promotion planning uses promotional curves as the basis for both plan schedule and uplifts. You can create and store curves for use in multiple promotion plans. Curves aren't specific to a promotion plan.
