This page enables you to identify products and customers that have recently triggered outlier breaches. It provides a view into the demand sensing capabilities that exist in history correction. The page features breaches by product as the main driver of correction.

Use the context selectors at the top-right to select a product and customer combination. Additionally, you can manually enter the required values using the search function.

Use the Customer Filter and Product Filter fields to filter on a specific customer and product.

The counts in this section represent the number of product and customer combinations that have had breaches:

Count TypeDescription
UpCount of breaches that are above the upper limit.
DownCount of breaches that are below the lower limit.
Up and DownCount of breaches that are in at least 25% of the last ten periods. It depends on the effective parameters grid values

Use the Edit Parameters grid to enter the parameter values locally.

ParametersValues
Number of Periods to AnalyzeSpecifies the number of periods to include in the analysis.
Alert: Percentage of Outlier Periods %Specifies the percentage value before an alert is issued.

The Count of Breaches by Product table displays ‌the total number of breaches up, breaches down, breaches up percentage, breaches down percentage, and alerts for each product. The table provides a snapshot of the products to correct based on the parameters set. Products that have triggered breaches are highlighted in red.

ParameterDescription
Breaches UpCount of breaches above the limit for the product and customer combination.
Breaches DownCount of breaches below the limit for the product and customer combination.
Breaches Up (%)Percentage total of breaches that have crossed the above limit for the selected time period.
Breaches Down (%)Percentage total of breaches that have crossed the below limit for the selected time period.
AlertSpecifies if an alert has been sent for the type of breach.

Select a Time View Settings to focus on a specific timeframe.

Parameter Value
View Years HistoryThis is the number of years history to view. If you enter more than the maximum history available, only the maximum available is shown.
View Period Type

View Period Type: This provides options to view planning periods as either:

  • Fiscal Year: Always shows the current fiscal year as a minimum.
  • Rolling Year: Always shows the current period as a minimum.

You can set the parameter values locally by setting values in the Edit Parameters in the Outlier Identification card.

ParametersValues
Correct From

Specifies the baseline for correction. With From Mean or From Trend Line, the values are calculated using periodic data starting from the product's effective date and ending with the last effective period:

  • Off: Prevents the application from calculating outliers for correction.
  • From Mean: Calculates outliers based on values greater than x standard deviations from the Mean.
  • From Trend: Calculates outliers based on values greater than x standard deviations from the Trend line.
  • From Trend Seasonal: Calculates outliers based on values greater than x standard deviations from the Trend Seasonal line.
Outlier MagnitudeSpecifies the number of standard deviations from the mean (or standard errors from the trend line) that determine an outlier. A value of 2 highlights data points more than two standard deviations from the mean.

The Alerts card displays the current status of history correction.

The Demand Sensing chart provides a visual display of demand sensing capabilities that exist in history correction.

ParameterValue
Chained History (U)The sum of Selected History (U) and Inherited History(U).
Mean (U)The total of the sum of all values in a collection of numbers divided by the number of numbers in a collection.
Trend (U)

Displays the mean of the Trendline.

A trend is the general direction of change in a variable over time. Trends can be upward, downward, or flat, and are usually associated with structural causes.

Upper Limit (U)The upper limit for the selected product and customer combination.
Lower Limit (U)The lower limit for the selected product combination.
