Set the opening inventory for your distribution centers and manufacturing plants.

The 200 – Opening Inventory page provides a basis for estimating demand, allocating resources, managing costs, and evaluating performance. This enables you to make informed decisions to meet customer demand efficiently while optimizing inventory levels and costs.

Products, distribution centers, and plants have been configured in the Core Business Setup section of the app. If any location and product combination is missing, review the core business data.

To set the opening inventory and remaining shelf life for your distribution centers:

  1. Use the context selector dropdown at the top of the page to select a product, raw material, raw material, or process, and a production scenario.
  2. In the DC Opening Inventory grid, for each product and distribution center combination, enter an Opening Inventory Balance and Shelf Life Remaining value. Shelf life is represented in weeks.
  3. When you have finished setting the values, in the left-hand side, select the Setup Opening Inventory button to apply your changes.

  2. In the Plant Opening Inventory grid, for each product, plant, and process combination, enter an Opening Inventory Balance and Shelf Life Remaining value. Shelf life is represented in weeks.
  3. When you have finished setting the values on the left hand side, select the Setup Opening Inventory button to apply your changes.

If there are unprocessed changes, a Warning - unprocessed changes message displays on the page. Select the Process Master Data Changes - Process to process the changes and synchronize with core business data.
