Set the target safety stock and penalties for safety stock held at your distribution centers.

The 255 – Target stock levels (DC) page enables you to set target stock levels at distribution centers to ensure raw materials are efficiently allocated to the locations. It provides you with the basis to adjust the target safety stock and penalties for the stock held at distribution centers.

Prerequisites

Products and locations have been configured in the Core Business Data Setup section of the app. If any product and location combination is missing, review the core business data.

Select Input DC safety stock at "Total DC" level to maintain safety stock in the network of all distribution centers. It ensures that the buffer is maintained across the complete DC network.

To set safety stock by product

To set the penalty per unit value for safety stock at a distribution center:

  1. Use the context selector dropdown at the top of the page to select a product, raw material, or process, and a production scenario.
  2. Enter the value in Safety stock at "TOTAL DC" level for the product in the Input Safety Stock by Product (to be allocated to location) grid.
  3. Enter a value for the product at a distribution center in the Input Penalty per Unit value for Safety Stock at DC grid.
  4. Enter the value for products at the selected location in the Input safety stock by Product and Location grid.
    Final stock details are displayed in the Final safety stock by Product and Location grid.
