Customize time settings, display preferences, and Optimizer behaviors for efficient production schedules.
The 910 – Time and Global settings page enables you to set time-related parameters. It helps you to ensure that production schedules are efficient, and meet production, supply, and demand deadlines. It also helps you to ensure that all production activities are synchronized across various locations.
Set time settings
To configure time settings for production-related processes:
Parameter | Value |
Number of production periods | Total number of time periods for production. |
Start of financial year | Financial year start date of the production cycle. |
Start of planning range | Start date for planning process. |
Granularity of time periods | Select from the options: days, weeks (W/C), weeks (W/E), weeks (week no), months, quarters, years, and custom. |
Number of periods to report on from Optimizer | It's the number of periods of data that should be exported for reporting from Optimizer to downstream applications. |
Financial year based on "W/C"? | Select to have the financial year based on the week-commencing. |
Financial year based on "W/E"? | Select to have the financial year based on the week-ending. |
Set dashboard display parameters
To configure parameters to display on dashboard pages:
Parameter | Value |
Threshold over which resource over-utilized | Value in percentage. |
Threshold under which resource under-utilized | Value in percentage. |
Periods over which to measure utilization | Number of time periods. |
Demand met on time % – Red alert level | A serious issue where production doesn't meet demand as expected. The red alert level is a critical threshold set by the user. |
Demand met on time % – Orange alert level | This is an alert that the production process may not meet customer demands within the expected timelines. The threshold for this level is set before reaching the critical threshold. |
Demand met on time % – Green alert level | It shows that the production process is performing well and meeting customer demands within the set timelines. |
UX pages default number of periods to display | Number of time periods to display on dashboard pages. |
No. of d.p. for volume reporting | Number of decimal places to display. |
No. of d.p. for currency reporting | Number of decimal places to display. |
No. of d.p. for % reporting | Number of decimal places to display. |
Select "Base Forecast" | Select from the scenario dropdown. |
Set parameters governing optimizer
To configure parameters that impact optimizer behavior:
Parameter | Value |
Max no. of periods supply can be allocated early | Maximum number of time periods for which supply can be allocated early. |
Max no. of periods prod can occur after due date (lateness) | Maximum number of time periods in which production can occur after due date. |
Setup problem Plant > Customer direct | If you select this checkbox, Setup problem Plant --> DC --> Customer will become inactive. Additionally, Use historic profiles based on Plant x DC x Cust data and Use historic profiles based on Plant x DC & DC x Cust data are unavailable. |
Setup problem Plant > DC > Customer | This option is selected by default, if you don't select Setup problem Plant --> Customer direct. By default, Use historic profiles based on Plant x DC & DC x Cust data is selected. |

Demand inputs based on shipment dates? | If you select this checkbox, Demand inputs based on dates of arrival at customer will become inactive. If you deselect the checkbox, Demand inputs based on dates of arrival at customer will become active. |
Demand inputs based on dates of arrival at customer? | If you select this checkbox, Demand inputs based on shipment dates will become inactive. |
Restrict optimizer to only use Plants/DCs used historically? | Select the checkbox. |
Unallocated inventory expires in period 0? | Select the checkbox. |
Safety Stock Targets and Storage Facility Constraints? | Select the checkbox. |
Set scenarios for unconstrained mode
Select all scenarios that you need to be available and run in the Unconstrained Mode.
Set custom time periods
To configure custom periods, where predefined options aren't available:
- Select the time period in Custom period text.
- Select period start date in Custom period start.
Note: As there are only 52 weeks in a year, you can add only up to 52 custom periods.
Additional information
If there are unprocessed changes, a Warning - unprocessed changes message displays on the page. Select the Process Master Data Changes - Process to process the changes and synchronize with core business data.
