Manage your storage facilities, set storage requirements by unit of product, and set storage capacity by facility.

The 115 - Create Storage Facilities page enables planners to manage their storage facilities and their attributes.

Prerequisites

The production planning model must be set up by a workspace administrator. This model should already include the storage facilities used on this page. If not, you must create individual storage facilities for your planning.

To add a storage facility:

  1. Select the Add new Storage Facility action button, on the left hand side.
  2. In the dialog enter a Name and a shortform Code for your new customer, and select Submit.
  3. On the left side of the page, select the Process changes button to apply the changes. This commits your changes to the system.

Set storage requirements by product

Each product that you stock takes up space in a storage facility. Here, you set how many units of storage does one unit of a product take up in a storage facility.

  1. The Set Storage Capacity Required by Product grid displays a list of all your storage facilities and products, together with the storage requirement for each unit of product. Find the storage facility that you want to set storage requirements for.
  2. For any product at any storage facility, enter a value for Volume consumed per unit of product.
  3. On the left side of the page, select the Process changes button to apply the changes. The storage facility displays in the Set Capacity by Storage Facility grid.

Set storage facility capacity

Define the total storage capacity available at each storage facility. To set the capacity:

  1. In the Set Capacity by Storage Facility, find the storage facility to change.
  2. In the Capacity Available column, enter the maximum capacity for the storage facility.
